Survey Department celebrated the Golden Jubilee
Survey Department celebrated the Golden Jubilee of its establishment on 14th Jestha 2064 amidst a grand function. Honorable Minister for land reform and management Mr. Jagat Bahadur Bogati inaugurated the function by lighting the traditional lamp. Since 15th Jestha last year, Survey Department had been conducting a yearlong programme of Golden Jubilee. A week long (8th - 14th Jestha) main ceremony was organized by conducting various programmes like seminar, games, quiz contest etc. On the Golden Jubilee day (14th Jestha 2064) Minister Bogati, released the Golden Jubilee issue of "Nepalese Journal on Geoinformatics" and honored three retired Director Generals of Survey Department by presenting them with shawl and letter of felicitation, gave away the letter of appreciation to the employee who have had completed 30 years of service, distributed the medals and certificates to the winners and participants of different games, inaugurated the golden Jubilee Gate and Golden Jubilee Garden and then visited the exhibition on the development of mapping technology "From Chain survey to Satellite".
Mr. Rabindra Man Joshi, Secretary at the Ministry of land reform and management, expressed the importance and usefulness of the digital mapping system.
Mr. Toya Nath Baral, Director General of Survey department speaking from the chair stressed on the need for a single unified act concerning land issue.
Coordinator of the Golden Jubilee organizing committee and Deputy Director General of the Department, Mr. Tirtha Bahadur Pradhananga, welcomed the participants of the function and explained the different programmes organized during the Golden Jubilee year.
Mr. Chhabiraj Pant, Coordinator of the resettlement programme for freed bonded labour, stressed on the fact that the service provider should satisfy the clients.
Mr. Kalyan Gopal Shrestha, Member secretary of the organizing committee delivered the vote of thanks to the guests and the participants.
